Workshop 3: Conceptual Model

Conceptual Model 2


I decided to go with the design shown below because;



  • the metal wire gives the entire form a solid and definite physical shape. This represents the 'stillness' of the vehicle shown in Hopper's 'Car Chair'.
  • The difference in height in each section, or frame, of the model represents the concept of 'motion' depicted in the painting.
  • The hollow interior demonstrates the notion of time. Although the model shows both notions of movement and stillness, time still passes through it all. 
  • Furthermore, the idea was also drawn from the idea of a train going through a tunnel.  The model corresponds to the form of a tunnel, also implying the notion of movement.
The outside cladding is newspaper.
